BCDG Management Committee. The BCDG was established in April 2009, The constitution is here. Club Membership of the Group is an annual fee of £20, and more details of member clubs can be found from the BCDG menu. The committee comprises the eight people on this page.
BCDG Management Committee
Chairman Norman Cathcart Norman is a member of Drystanes Curling Club. Apart from being a lawyer, he is a strong advocate for coaching, the Virtual Club and encouraging new curlers. He has been heavily involved in the RCCC in the last few years. Within BCDG he takes a keen interest in all areas, and makes sure that we all keep on our toes and get our various jobs done.
Vice Chairman / Competitions Gary Macfarlane Gary is a member of Cadder and Reform Curling Clubs. He presently Chairs the competitions committee at Braehead. He has a seniors team which is determined to win the Scottish Seniors Championships. He is a GP in Kirkintilloch.
Secretary David Horne David is a member of Cathcart Castle Curling Club. He has been the Braehead Development Officer for the last 2 years, and does a power of work to make curling a success at Braehead. His particular interests are in getting new people to take up curling, running Come and Try sessions, and supporting curling development.
Treasurer Dawn Watson Dawn is a member and Vice President of Carmunnock and Rutherglen Curling Club.
Coaching Robbie Stewart Robbie works with Liz on everything to do with coaching and is developing a range of coaching modules, more of which you will hear about shortly. He has played curling for 9 years, and before that did numerous other sports! Liz Paul Liz is a member of Cardross and Glasgow Ladies Curling Clubs. She is a pretty competitive curler, and has previously represented Braehead at the Henderson Bishop Finals. Her role is to develop the provision of coaching for BCDG and has recently reviewed our coaching equipment needs. She is presently working with Robbie to establish a range of coaching modules for member clubs and curlers.
Information Technology Gordon Nicholl Gordon is past president and match secretary of Carmunnock & Rutherglen Curling Club and also maintains their website. An IT systems designer and previously an architect, creativity is second nature to him. His main role on the BCDG is to advise on rink cameras, webcasting, databases and all things IT.
Province Representation Alan Sloan Alan is a member of Glasgow XX Curling Club, and is the Glasgow Province Representative on the BCDG. He has a background in marketing and is presently advises the BCDG on brochure production, logos and everything to do with good presentation.
