Insurance Matters

Insurance Matters

One curler bumps into another curler, and the latter goes down heavily on the ice. The result, a broken hip resulting in a major operation and some long term disability.

A claim is made against the party that caused the fall.

Fortunately the party is an RCCC member, and therefore benefits from the RCCC Civil Liability (Third Party) insurance cover.

Had the curler not been an RCCC member, they might well have found themselves without the insurance to protect themselves from a sizeable claim.

One of the clear benefits of RCCC Membership!

However, the RCCC Policy does not provide Personal Injury cover.

A copy of our current competition rules is also posted on our website for all to see. Following our discussions at the AGM , would all Secretaries please ensure that the RCCC membership database is fully up to date by 25th of September for their purposes (see RCCC website), and to enable Crawford our Treasurer to have the correct data to make up our club membership and Tour Fund fees due early October.

Finally a reminder that no ice money for Province games should be paid into the Braehead Office or left in the scorecard envelope at Province Notice Board. Skips should collect ice money for the game and pass to their own Club Treasurers/ Secretaries. Crawford Howat will then invoice Club Treasurers for payment.
Thank you.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Cuthbert Cup on 21st Sept.
Adam Clark
10th President.
