David Duncan Trophy
2009 – 2010 Rules
The Trophy will be initially played in
3 Leagues, and played as a round robin
Each team will play each other team in
their league and all games are 8 ends or the bell.
In the league stages the results score
2 points for a win, one point each team for a draw, and no points for a loss –
ie games can be peeled.
The top team from each league will
progress to the semi finals.
Where two teams are equal on points,
after the Section Games, the result between the equal teams shall determine the
qualifier.
Where more than two teams are equal,
the team winning the division shall be decided by (in order) total ends scored,
total shots up and total shots.
The best 2nd placed
team will also qualify for the semi finals.
This will be decided (in order) points,
total ends scored, total shots up and total shots. However for divisions where
there are 5 teams the results against the lowest placed team will not be
included in the calculation.
SEMIFINALS
In the Semi-finals, games peeled shall
be settled by a ‘one shot’ draw shot challenge.
FINAL
In the David Duncan Final, games peeled
shall progress to an extra end. If teams remain peeled after the extra end, a
draw shot challenge shall occur to decide the winner.
If a draw shot challenge is required
one stone shall be thrown, by a player nominated by their skip. This stone can
be swept by the team, no sweeping behind the line by the opposing team.
Results shall be posted on the
Competitions Noticeboard and on the Braehead curlers website (www.curlbraehead.co.uk)_
