E Earl S Baillie I Morgan Anne Rankin (Skip)
Duntocher Ladies consisting of E Earl : S Baillie : I Morgan and skipped by Anne Rankin took on a team from
Maxwell Ladies:- L Ferguson : L Hendry : S Spiers and skipped by Sheila Black (Liz Scott who is the normal skip was enjoying a winter break, but e-mailed her team good wishes for the final)
Duntocher Ladies took control of the game by winning each of the 1st four ends by One shot to open up a 4 shot lead. However, Maxwell Ladies struck back in the 5th and 6th end by picking up a 2 and a 1 to cut the deficit to one shot going into the 7th end.
The bell rang at the start of the end so Maxwell ladies required a one or more if they were to win or at least take the game into another end. With only one more stone each to be played by the skip’s, Duntocher were lying one, with a stone at the back of the four foot but well guarded with stones out front.
Sheila tried a very difficult hit and roll and although she did get the hit on the opposing stone, her own stone did not roll over enough to steal the end and Duntocher Ladies were the winners.
Bruce Harley congratulated both teams on a great final and presented the Trophy to the winning team.
